Installed inline before your main canister filter, it traps waste particles, uneaten food, and plant debris, keeping the primary filter media cleaner for longer periods. This improves water clarity and biological efficiency while reducing service intervals.

Made from durable ABS plastic, the HW603 features quick-connect hose fittings and a simple twist-lock lid for hassle-free maintenance. It’s suitable for both freshwater and marine tanks and can be customized with different filter media such as sponges, ceramic rings, or bio balls.

How to Install

1. Disconnect your filter’s intake hose and insert the HW603 pre-filter in-line.
2. Connect hoses securely using provided fittings (12/16 mm standard).
3. Fill the chamber with water before starting the canister to prevent airlocks.
4. Run your system and check for leaks; tighten fittings if necessary.
5. Clean or replace the sponge every 2–3 weeks for best performance.

Care & Maintenance Tips

• Rinse the sponge or media in tank water to preserve beneficial bacteria.
• Inspect O-rings regularly and apply silicone grease if drying occurs.
• Do not use detergents or chemicals for cleaning.
• Position the pre-filter below the tank level for consistent siphon flow.
