Excital is the new way of removing cyanobacteria in a reef aquarium without using antibiotics or compounds which contain copper.

Cyanobacteria (red slime algae) often arise if the water temperature rises, sometimes in combination with a high level of organics in the water or rotting bottom material. Excital effectively gets rid of cyanobacteria. Excital is easy and safe to use and is harmless to fish and corals.

If there is a serious infestation, then it is recommended to first remove the cyanobacteria by hand as much as possible and then add Excital. In severe cases, the Excital treatment can be prolonged for a few days, even with a double dose because it’s completely reef and coral safe.

Important: Remove active carbon; all equipment may remain switched on. Dosage: for 5 days 10 ml per 40 litres per day. Visible results within 10 days.

The first days time is needed for building up sufficient bacteria to combat and replace the red algae. This process takes time. After 5-7 days result will become visible. In some cases a second treatment is needed. Reef and coral safe.

Maintenance: Sustained result: weekly 10 ml per 100 litres.
