• Simple 2-step procedure: 10 drops of Reagent #1, shake, then 10 drops of Reagent #2, shake again, wait 5 minutes

Testing Procedure

1. Fill test tube to 5 mL mark with sample water.
2. Add 10 drops from Nitrate Solution Bottle #1 (vertical dropper).
3. Cap and shake gently; shake Bottle #2 vigorously for 30+ seconds.
4. Add 10 drops of Solution Bottle #2, cap and shake for 1 minute.
5. Allow color development for 5 minutes, then compare against included chart.

Interpreting Results & Action

• Freshwater target: 20–40 ppm nitrate
• Saltwater target: below 20 ppm nitrate
• High readings? Perform partial water changes, use nitrate-reducing filter media, or use FritzZyme Turbo Clean to reduce organic load.
