Instructions

1. Fill test tube to 5 mL line with sample water.
2. Hold KH reagent dropper vertically—add 1 drop at a time.
3. Cap and gently mix between drops until color shifts from blue to yellow.
4. Count drops—each drop equals 1 dKH

Next Steps

• To raise KH: use Fritz pH Higher (standard) or Fritz Rift Lake Cichlid Buffer for higher targets.
• To lower KH: use Fritz pH Lower or perform a partial water change.
• Fritz recommends a minimum of 4 dKH (80 ppm) for optimal nitrifying bacteria performance.
