Aquario Neo Soil Plant No CO2 RICH is an active aquarium planting soil designed for lush planted tanks without the need for external CO2 injection. Built with an organic biobase, this nutrient-rich substrate biologically activates the aquarium bottom, supports beneficial bacteria, encourages strong root development, and helps create a healthier environment for aquatic plants.

Ideal for beginner and experienced aquascapers, Aquario Neo Soil Plant No CO2 RICH helps stabilise water parameters by naturally buffering pH in the slightly acidic range preferred by many aquarium plants. Its bacteria-rich structure supports natural CO2 production within the substrate, helps speed up filtration maturity, reduces algae pressure, and promotes steady plant growth in low-tech planted aquariums. Available in convenient 3L and 8L bag options.

  • Active planted aquarium substrate for no-CO2 setups
  • Organic biobase supports natural plant growth
  • Helps beneficial bacteria produce natural CO2 in the substrate
  • Buffers pH around 6.4–6.8 for plant-friendly conditions
  • Promotes healthy rooting and reduces substrate clumping
  • Available in 3L and 8L variations

Description

Aquario Neo Soil Plant No CO2 RICH – Active Planted Aquarium Soil for Lush Growth Without CO2

Aquario Neo Soil Plant No CO2 RICH is a premium active substrate made for planted aquariums where strong plant growth is desired without external CO2 dosing. Its organic biobase activates the aquarium bottom, supports the multiplication of beneficial bacteria, improves biological filtration, and helps create a stable foundation for healthy aquatic plant development.

This RICH version is especially useful for low-tech planted tanks because the inoculated bacteria in the substrate support natural CO2 production within the soil bed. In a mature setup, aquarists may even observe fine CO2 bubbles rising from the substrate, showing that the biological activity is working. The soil structure also helps prevent clumping, allowing plant roots to spread more freely and anchor securely.

Aquario Neo Soil Plant No CO2 RICH naturally supports stable and plant-friendly water parameters by buffering pH, usually around 6.4–6.8. This slightly acidic range improves nutrient availability for many aquarium plants, supports beneficial bacteria, and helps limit algae multiplication. With correct water changes during startup, ammonia can stabilise after around 15 days, helping the aquarium become healthier, clearer, and easier to manage.

How to Use This Aquarium Planting Soil

  1. Rinse is generally not required for active aquarium soil; add the substrate directly to the aquarium base.
  2. Create a sloped layout if desired, keeping more substrate depth at the back for taller stem plants and stronger root zones.
  3. Add hardscape such as stones and driftwood before planting to avoid disturbing the soil later.
  4. Plant aquatic plants gently into the substrate using tweezers, making sure roots are secured below the surface.
  5. Fill the aquarium slowly by pouring water onto a plate, plastic sheet, or diffuser bag to avoid disturbing the soil bed.
  6. During the initial setup period, perform appropriate water changes to manage ammonia release and help the filtration cycle mature.
  7. Allow the tank to stabilise before adding sensitive livestock, especially shrimp or delicate fish.

Care & Maintenance Tips

  • Use regular water changes during the first few weeks to maintain stable water quality.
  • Avoid deep vacuuming the substrate, as this can disturb beneficial bacteria and plant roots.
  • Trim plants regularly so light and water flow reach the lower portions of the aquascape.
  • Do not overstock livestock during the early cycling stage.
  • Pair with good filtration to maximise biological stability and clarity.
  • Use root-feeding plants directly in the substrate for best results.
  • Monitor ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and pH during the startup phase.
  • For long-term planted tank performance, supplement with liquid fertiliser if plant demand increases over time.
