Quantum Pelletised Activated Carbon 500g is a premium filtration media designed for freshwater aquariums. Its pelletised form gives it exceptional mechanical strength, allowing it to survive the high water pressures found in canister filters while providing superior adsorption performance.
The carbon targets a wide range of water pollutants:
Unlike some media, it does not release phosphate back into the water, so it won’t affect pH or promote algae growth.
Larger pellet size reduces compression within the filter media, ensuring water flows freely and maximising contact time for adsorption. This improved hydrodynamics means faster, more efficient cleaning of the aquarium water.
Use the following guidelines per 100 L of water:
Adjust the amount based on fish load, plant density and feeding schedule.
Rinse the carbon in RO/DI water before first use and replace it every month for optimal performance. Place the media in a high‑flow area of the canister filter or any external filter with strong water movement.
Quantum’s pelletised carbon combines durability with superior adsorption, making it a reliable choice for hobbyists who demand clear, healthy water without compromising pH stability.
